ACVIM Foundation Grant Proposal and Award Process
Step 1 – Proposal Announcement and Submission – 65 days
Call for proposals: Proposals will be announced on the ACVIM Foundation website. The call will also be distributed to the ACVIM 360 Communities and other means of distribution.
Proposals due to ACVIM Foundation: Proposals must be submitted electronically on the specified due date by 5:00 pm mountain standard time to Foundation@ACVIM.org or via mail/delivery service to ACVIM Foundation, Attn: Grant Proposals, 1997 Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood, CO 80214. Please take note of the due dates for each proposal cycle. Late submissions will not be accepted. If you need support for any portion of the grant proposal process, please contact Andrea Miller at Foundation@ACVIM.org or 303-231-9933 ext. 106.
Step 2 – Proposal Review – 45 days
Staff Review: ACVIM Foundation staff will review each proposal for completeness. Incomplete proposals will not be accepted. In the case of an incomplete proposal, a staff member will notify the principal investigator.
Scientific Review Committee: Members of the Scientific Review Committee (SRC) will be assigned a set of proposals for review and scoring based on the member’s experience with the proposed study subject matter. After a period of individual analysis, the committee will convene to discuss the acceptable proposals. At this time, the committee will make recommendations for award.
Step 3 – Award Notification – 30 days
Award notification: ACVIM Foundation staff members will compile all awarded proposals for processing. All applicants will receive notification of proposal status at this time.
Award packet distributed: Proposals awarded grant funding through the ACVIM Foundation will receive a packet complete with letter of acceptance, grant management instructions and reporting forms.
